What is Somatic Breathwork?

A Soma+IQ™ Breathwork session is an opportunity to give your body permission to release—to let go of what’s been stored deep within so your nervous system can reset, your mind can clear, and you can reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe and grounding.

There is no force, no pressure—just space to breathe, to feel, and to let go.

We live in a world filled with constant stress, and over time, this pressure builds up in both the mind and body. Soma+IQ™ breathwork is specifically designed to facilitate the release of suppressed emotions, stress, and tension, helping you access states of elevated emotion and deep relaxation.

This release might express itself in many ways—laughter, tears, sighs, yells, or movement—all of which are welcome and natural.

Permission to Be
Before we begin, give yourself permission to let go of expectations and simply be present. Every breathwork session is a unique experience, and there is no “right” way to feel—only what is true for you in the moment.

During this hour-long session, we will move through two distinct breathing techniques, each serving a specific purpose in your body’s release and restoration process.

Mouth Breathing (First Half of the Session)

The first phase involves an active, open-mouth breath pattern designed to challenge you. This may feel intense or uncomfortable at first, but within that discomfort lies the opportunity to release stored tension, suppressed stress, and emotional blockages. As you breathe, your nervous system will begin to reset, allowing for deep emotional and physical release.

Nasal Breathing (Second Half of the Session)

In the second half, we transition to a gentler, nasal breathing pattern, which supports mental clarity, emotional balance, and an overall sense of calm. This portion of the session is typically easier to sustain, guiding your body into a state of relaxation, integration, and elevated awareness.

This session is a journey—one that helps you reconnect with yourself in a safe and grounding way. However your body chooses to respond, trust that the process is unfolding exactly as it should. 💙
